Amazon Tracebacks continue to remain at record lows!
Wow, what a month it's been! The team behind RoboGuard® has been working tirelessly, and we're thrilled to report that Amazon Tracebacks continue to remain at record lows! If you caught our blog post last month, you'll understand why we're so excited about RoboGuard®!
Recently, we've turned our attention towards combating "Employee Redemption" and "Fraudulent Utility Calls," which have emerged as some of the most problematic calls in recent months. So, watch this space!
This month, we want to highlight a few important points for anyone in this industry.
Nationwide Crackdown on Illegal Telemarketing
As you may have read in the latest press releases, the government is really cracking down on illegal telemarketing calls. While we don’t necessarily agree with how they are treating “Intermediate Carriers” and the expectations they are imposing on them, we do concur that most Intermediate Carriers are not doing enough in their Robocall Mitigation efforts, particularly in preventing illegal calls!
Let’s get this straight: It might be great that you have ANI & Media IP blocking capabilities, but how does that prevent the illegal traffic in the first place? How is it reducing your tracebacks? Can you confidently say that you are mitigating and preventing illegal robocalls?
You may even be using a third-party RMD provider, blocking known SCAM/SPAM ANIs, but how effective is ANI analytics, really? If it were truly effective, don’t you think we would have seen a significant decrease in scam calls by now?
If you are an intermediate carrier, remember that you have until January 8, 2024, to have a robust Robocall Mitigation plan and system in place. Don't assume for a second that merely telling an Attorney General you have “ANI blocking and other blocking measures” in place will suffice. Intermediate carriers need to utilize and demonstrate they are using RMD systems that not only block but also prevent illegal robocalls to stay in business.
